Letos mineva že 7.leto odkar smo zasnovali CROATIA DRUM CAMP-delavnice z mednarodno udeležbo, ki sicer že standardno potekajo v avgustu, v istrskem mestecu Grožnjanu. Med obiskovalci našega seminarja je tudi veliko mladih slovenskih bobnarjev... PRIDITE!!!

Benny Greb (Germany)
(International Clinician/Educator)

(Author,‘The Language of Drumming’ a Best-Selling Drum DVD Worldwide)
Born in 1980 in Augsburg, Germany, Benny was initially self-taught, playing along to records, before taking his first lesson at 12 and quickly progressing to playing in punk bands before discovering rock and jazz . In 1997 he began his studies at music schools firstly in Dinkelsbuhl and then in Hamburg. Today, one can find Benny in rock settings with Stoppok and The Ron Spielman Trio; in Jazz, with his own Benny Greb Brass Band; as well as in Pop and Funk music with Jerobeam. Benny's ability to mix jazz and rock finds him also working with fusion bands such as 3ergezimmer. Allowing for his sense of humour to come to the fore, Benny also performs with acoustic punk/cabaret act Strom & Wasser, showing no style is beyond his fun loving approach. As well as the previously named artists, Benny has worked with Christian von Richthofen, where the duo feature a car as a percussion instrument and, of course, he is also a highly in-demand session player, not forgetting composer and producer. Benny teaches regularly at the Hamburg School of Music, the Popakademie in Mannheim, the Popkurs of the Hochschule fur Music and Theater in Hamburg and the Bandcamp of the Bayerische Musikacademie Hammelburg. He tours globally, entertaining drummers worldwide with clinics for Sonor and Meinl at such high profile events such as the the Montreal Drum Festival, Canada, Ultimate Drummers Weekend, Australia, the World Drum Festival, Germany, Drummer Live, UK, and at PASIC in the USA. His educational DVD The Language of Drumming - A System For Musical Expression was released in 2009 on the Hudson Music label, and has been a No.1 Best selling Drum DVD ever since!

Howard Curtis (USA/AT)
(Head of Jazz Drums at University of Graz Jazz Academy in Austria) (Performed/recorded with John Abercrombie, Kurt Elling, Jimmy Heath, Barry White, The Temptations, The Platters, Charlie Hadden, Bill Evans)
T. Howard Curtis III, born in Williamburg, VA, USA, but now living and woking in Graz, Austria has been enjoying a multifaceted career as jazz drummer, percussionist and educator for over 30 years. He has performed in jazz and other music festivals all over the world, supporting some of the world’s greatest jazz musicians such as Dave Liebman, Gary Thomas, Julius Hemphill, George Coleman, Bob Mintzer, David “Fathead” Newman, Joe Locke, Barry Harris, Marc Johnson, John Abercrombie, Jimmy Heath, Odean Pope, Lionel Hampton, Charlie Haden, Kurt Elling, The Temptations, The Platters, Barry White and many more. Howard was recently appointed Full Professor of Music (tenured) at Kunst University in Graz, Austria.


Emiliano Bassi (Italy)

Emiliano was born in 1982 in Casorate Primo, a little town south of Milano, Italy.
During his musical growth, he was influenced by his father Maurizio Bassi, one of the greatest Italian producers famous for his #1 hit "Tarzan Boy". From 2001 to 2003 Emiliano worked as session drummer for the famous Italian pop band 883. He then started collaborating live and in the studio with many Italian artists such as: Eros Ramazzotti, Laura Pausini, Syria, Paolo Meneguzzi, Alessandro Casillo, Elisa, Giorgia, Gianna Nannini, Claudio Baglioni, Pino Daniele, L’Aura, Irene Grandi, Jovanotti, Francesco Facchinetti, Loredana Bertč, Marco Carta and others. In 2005, Emiliano started collaborating with the biggest Italian pop artist Laura Pausini (4 Grammy Awards, multiple platinum and gold records and more than 50 million records sold worldwide). In 2009, Emiliano took off for his first world tour promoting Laura's album 'Primavera in anticipo' doing more than 90 shows in Europe, the Americas and Canada. From that a live DVD ‘Laura Live’ came out which sold more than 1.500,000 copies and was nominated for a 2010 Latin Grammy. In 2009 Emiliano played with Laura at San Siro Stadium in Milan before 60,000 people who had donated to the victims of Abruzzo earthquake. From that event a DVD was made called Amiche per l'Abruzzo. In 2011 Emiliano took off for his second world tour presenting Laura Pausini's new album "Inedito" where he also recorded 4 tracks on the drums. Emiliano produced a new young Italian artist Alessandro Casillo (from "Io canto" TV show), winning 2012 Sanremo Festival with "E' vero", a ballad written and produced by Emiliano and his brother Matteo in which his father Maurizio Bassi wrote and conducted the strings. Emiliano endorses Tama Drums and Zildjian Cymbals.


Gabor Dornyei (Hungary/UK)
(Professor at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London) (Drummer in West End Musicals such as ‘Michael Jackson Thriller Live’)
Born in Szeged, Hungary and now based in London, England, Gabor was voted "Drummer of the Year" and won the "Golden Drumsticks" Award in Hungary. He was listed in the RHYTHM Magazine, the UK's Best-selling drum magazine, among the "10 Best New Drummers to Watch Out For in 2010". His extensive studio experience can be heard on more than 30 CD's, 4 DVD's, and about 100+ Radio recordings, and has collaborated with Andy Whitmore, the producer of Atomic Kitten, Kool and the Gang, Dannii Minogue and Peter Andre. Gabor has 15 years experience playing drums in the Musical Theaters, with credits including such musicals as: Fame, Rent, Jekyll and Hyde, The Producers, Oliver, Le Cage aux Folles, The Beautiful Game, Godspell, Les Miserables, Sister Act, The Full Monty, Cabaret, Chicago, Thriller Live, We Will Rock You, etc. Gabor participated on the 2.5 years long Thriller Live World Tour, (Feb 2009 - July 2011) West End Michael Jackson production before millions of fans. Gabor's latest release the Kornél Horváth-Gábor Dörnyei "tHUNder Duo with Dom Famularo" DVD was released on Hudson Music. Gabor is the Head of Drums at the Harris Academy Bermondsey-London, and professor at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) in London. Gabor endorses Sonor drums, Sabian cymbals, Remo Heads, Vic Firth sticks, Roland V-electronic drums, and Stagg hardcases.


Petar Curic (Croatia)
(Founding Director/Coordinator)
Croatian-born and USA/UK-educated Performing Artist, Educator, Arts Manager and Social Entrepreneur, Petar earned both his Master's and Bachelor's Degrees in England. He also spent two years in Denton, Texas, as a graduate student at the University of North Texas, under Ed Soph. Finalist of the 'Yamaha Percussionist of the Year' Competition at the Royal College of Music in London, and Winner of Truscott and Vic Firth-Megamuzika Prizes for Excellence, Petar taught Drumset and Percussion Performance at various Croatian, British and American Schools, High Schools and Colleges, most recently on the degree course at The Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) in London. Active in all kinds of musical settings, from Orchestral, Philharmonic and Opera to Fusion, Jazz and Ethno, most recently Petar was the drummer for the UK/Brazilian rapper Aggro Santos, famous for his UK Top-5 Hit Single «Candy».

Dr Donald Bousted (UK)
('Composition for Drummers' workshop)

Dr Bousted is a composer, sound and installation artist, film maker and guitarist.
His music/sound art has been performed throughout the UK, in America, Germany, Switzerland, France, Czechoslovakia and Croatia and broadcast in the UK, America, the Netherlands, Sweden and France. His films have been screened in London, USA, Chile, Palestine and Russia and have been webcast and broadcast on HypTV (Sky TV). CD recordings include: A Journey Among Travellers (Kathryn Bennetts and Peter Bowman); A Woldgate Requiem (Kevin Bowyer); Tears (Tubalaté); The Rhythm-Spring (Summerhayes and Brown) and the electro-acoustic piece Never Liked Water. Dr Bousted studied composition with Philip Cannon at the Royal College of Music, the late Oliver Hunt (privately) and Margaret Lucy Wilkins at the University of Huddersfield. He won the Cobbett Prize for Composition at the RCM in 1981 and was awarded a PhD in musical composition from the University of Huddersfield in 2002. Between 1993-2001 he was a lecturer in Composition at the University of Huddersfield and from September 2001 to June 2002 he was the first appointed Composer-in-Residence at the Centre for New Musical Instruments at the London Guildhall University (funded by the Leverhulme Trust). For the past 2 years he has been a part-time lecturer in music technology at Kingston University. Donald has also written for BBC TV, film, video and theatre.

Dusan Kranjc (Croatia)
(Past CDC student, Drummer w/2CELLOS)

Dusan was an active student-participant at multiple CROATIA DRUM CAMPs (2007, 2008, 2010). In 2011 he joined the 2CELLOS, a Duo of incredibly talented Croatian classical cello players performing popular music in special arrangements (initially known as an ‘overnight youtube sensation’ reaching millions of views in less then 48 hours). Dusan now tours the world, plays sold out stadiums and arenas and is considered one of the most promising young drummers in the industry. His first official studio recording was the rock classic “Highway to Hell” featuring guitarist Steve Vai released by Sony! Dusan endorses Soultone cymbals with his own set of signature products.
